Fellow Chenster Rosemary Geseck was invited to the White House this past Tuesday. She showed me the official invitation from Laura Bush! I hope Barney was nice to her. (Did you hear about the reporter who was bitten by Barney, their dog?) Ro was selected, through the Baum School of Art, (where she teaches) to design and paint a Christmas ball for the White House Christmas tree. The scene she painted includes landmarks from Allentown and Bethlehem. The ball represents the Lehigh Valley. I hope she has some pictures of the ball, I do not recall seeing a story in any newspaper. Please congratulate Ro when you see her at our show.If anyone can find an online image of the ball, please let me know and I will post it at this blog.

Quite the honor! Regardless of W's 22% approval ratings. Congrats, Ro! But I know you won't see this cuz you don't have access to the "worldwide interweb." We'll have to leave you a message on that new telephone answering machine you just got!

Ro told me that there was to be no publicity about this until after Dec 2nd. I have asked Geoff Gehman from TMC to write about it. Ro also told me that she spotted the Lehigh Vallley ball on the tree! There were 400 artists invited, and she said the food was fabulous, and she was given a tour of the first floor of the White House. The Baum School has taken pictures of the ball.
