Allentown Public Theatre is holding auditions tomorrow, Saturday 3/27, for a play titled El Coqui. The story is based on Puerto Rican folklore.

Casting 3 men & 3 women for Allentown Public Theatre's Youth and Culture play, El Coqui. Seeking actors/singers with a strong ability in improvisation & movement, ages 14 and up. Guitar and indigenous percussion players as well as Bi-lingual, Hispanic/Latino and ethnic actors encouraged to audition. Please prepare a 60-second youth-oriented monologue, poem, or song to demonstrate skills sought. No accompanist. Bring instruments. Come prepared to participate in movement and animal improvisation.
Note: Auditions will take place from 12-5 p.m. at Theatre 514 (across 19th St. from Civic).
The Allentown Chen Arts Group includes artists living and working in Allentown, as well as regional artists who are interested in exhibiting and selling their work in Allentown. The group includes visual artists, film makers, musicians, dancers, writers, and creative people of all ages who are interested in supporting and promoting the arts in Allentown.
