DEC 9 DAVE ROPER TRIO AT SYMPHONY HALL

Friday evening (December 9th), The Dave Roper Trio will be the next Jazz Cabaret in the Rodale Room, at Allentown Symphony Hall (7:30 PM).

This promises to be a Holiday Treat for you and your friends so hurry and reserve your seats, because Dave is always very popular in the Lehigh Valley. He was the 2008 Ovation Award winner - Performer of the Year; he has performed here for 5 decades; and his audiences love his eclectic repertoire of jazzy interpretations of the American Songbook, Broadway, and Hollywood hits.

Manifesto

The Allentown Chen Arts Group was founded in April, 2008 and includes professional artists living and working in Allentown, as well as regional artists who are interested in exhibiting and selling their work in Allentown. The group includes visual artists, film makers, musicians, dancers, writers, and creative people of all ages who are interested in supporting and promoting the arts in Allentown.

Since the closing of Open Space Gallery on Hamilton Street, there has been little opportunity for artists to show and sell their work in Allentown. Since its evolution, The Allentown Chen Arts Group has successfully held group art shows, events, and activities to bring the community together, educate the public, and help revitalize downtown Allentown through the arts. Currently, the group consists of between 100-200 artists and supporters of the arts.

The group is called “Chen Arts” because we meet on the 4th Saturday night of each month for good food and conversation at the fabulous House of Chen restaurant on Hamilton St. in Allentown. We also meet for parties and events at artist’s studios/homes where we share slides or images of our work. We are hopeful that our group will help to promote a positive image of Allentown through the arts. Anyone is welcome to join CHARGE and be a part of a new and growing art scene in Allentown.
