Show Opening at Allentown Gallery on Saturday

Please come out to Art N Soul - the only independent gallery in downtown Allentown - this Saturday, April 11, for the opening of Cartoon Messiah, a show featuring the work of Josh Noti.

Art N Soul is located at 516 W. Hamilton Street. The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. Please try to support one of our area artists at this unique tattoo and art venue.

Manifesto

The Allentown Chen Arts Group was founded in April, 2008 and includes professional artists living and working in Allentown, as well as regional artists who are interested in exhibiting and selling their work in Allentown. The group includes visual artists, film makers, musicians, dancers, writers, and creative people of all ages who are interested in supporting and promoting the arts in Allentown.

Since the closing of Open Space Gallery on Hamilton Street, there has been little opportunity for artists to show and sell their work in Allentown. Since its evolution, The Allentown Chen Arts Group has successfully held group art shows, events, and activities to bring the community together, educate the public, and help revitalize downtown Allentown through the arts. Currently, the group consists of between 100-200 artists and supporters of the arts.

The group is called “Chen Arts” because we meet on the 4th Saturday night of each month for good food and conversation at the fabulous House of Chen restaurant on Hamilton St. in Allentown. We also meet for parties and events at artist’s studios/homes where we share slides or images of our work. We are hopeful that our group will help to promote a positive image of Allentown through the arts. Anyone is welcome to join CHARGE and be a part of a new and growing art scene in Allentown.
